Closing in on 48 hours until kickoff at the NCAA Tournament, the Nova Southeastern women’s soccer received some early headlines, as the senior trio of Hannah Christophe, Emma Heikkila and Paige Napolitano were each named First Team All-South Region selections by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) on Wednesday. The Sharks’ three first-team honorees matched Mississippi College for most in the region. FULL RELEASE

As part of the 2019-20 NCAA Division II Basketball Showcase, Nova Southeastern has officially been named as one of the select host institutions to have its doubleheader against Florida Southern on Feb. 15, 2020 aired on ESPN3. FULL RELEASE

Marking yet another program milestone, the Nova Southeastern women’s tennis tandem of Natalie Espinal and Sarah Wardenburg were named the top doubles pair in NCAA Division II at the conclusion of fall competition by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). In addition, Espinal garnered one of the top spots in the nation in singles, ranking at fourth overall, while Daniela Obando also earned a top-40 slot. FULL RELEASE

As the Nova Southeastern women’s rowing team sets its oars towards the spring season, plenty of progress has been made in a technically focused fall. “The whole goal in the fall season was to get everyone on the same page in terms of the style of stroke,” said head coach Devin Fay. FULL RELEASE

Mississippi College squashed Nova Southeastern’s postseason dreams a year ago, and appeared as if it may have the Sharks’ number once again on Sunday after scoring just 2:28 into the match. However, history would not repeat itself, but instead would be rewritten, as the Sharks struck for five goals en route to a wild 5-1 upset over top-seeded Mississippi College to advance to the program’s first-ever Sweet 16. Senior Emma Heikkila tallied two goals in the effort, with head coach John Constable’s club now set to face familiar foe Embry-Riddle in the NCAA South Region final. FULL RELEASE

After aiding the Nova Southeastern volleyball team to a 2-0 week that extended its win streak to six matches, Alex Boone has been awarded the title of Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. FULL RELEASE

For the fourth time this season, sophomore swimmer Sasha Maslova has garnered Sunshine State Conference Female Swimmer of the Week award, following a solid performance at 2019 Sheraton Le Meridien Fall Frenzy Invite hosted by Queens University of Charlotte in North Carolina. FULL RELEASE

The Sunshine State Conference announced its volleyball postseason accolades on Tuesday and a pair of Sharks were among those honored as Ally Ford was named to the All-SSC Second Team and Newcomer Team while Alex Boone earned a spot on the All-SSC Newcomer Team, as well. FULL RELEASE

After nine seasons at the helm, Nova Southeastern baseball head coach Greg Brown will resign his post leading the Sharks program later this year to pursue a hitting coordinator role in the Tampa Bay Rays Major League Baseball organization. FULL RELEASE
