Tampa Bay Health & Career Fair Set for Thursday, April 13

Nova Southeastern University’s Tampa Bay Regional Campus Nova Southeastern University’s VA Health & Career Fair has been rescheduled for Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 3400 Gulf to Bay Boulevard in Clearwater, Fla. The event was previously scheduled for  Thursday, November 10, 2022, but Hurricane Ian forced the postponement of the event.

The fair – which will be held on our campus courtyard – will be open to veterans who reside in the Greater Tampa Bay Area to honor their service and commitment to our community. The event will offer veterans and community members, as well as military and non-military students an opportunity to meet with local organizations who will showcase their employment opportunities and/or services.

Participants will be urged to bring their resumes and come learn about great employment opportunities from organizations across the Greater Tampa Bay area. There also will be free health assessments, as well as an opportunity to learn about NSU and its various degree programs and veteran benefits. We will release more information on the event vendors in the coming months.

NSU’s Tampa Bay Regional Campus Host’s Inaugural Health Exposition

On February 15, the Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine hosted its inaugural health exposition at the Tampa Bay Regional Campus as a way to provide students an opportunity to network and explore different medical specialties.

The event began with a speaker series, where physicians from various specialties spoke about why they chose medicine and their various career paths. Keynote speaker Ronald Burns, D.O., FACOFP, president of the American Osteopathic Association, highlighted the program’s second half. Burns discussed the osteopathic profession, as well as what it really means to be an osteopathic physician. In addition, he answered questions regarding the recent merger and the USMLE pass/fail exam.

The exposition ended with a networking social hour, where students were able to chat with the speakers, as well as learn about shadowing and research opportunities. The event, which helped many of the students gain insight into a variety of specialties, also served as a reminder of why they chose to pursue medicine in the first place.

“Sharksgiving” at the Tampa Bay Regional Campus

Tis the season for giving!

The NSU Tampa Bay Regional Campus held its second annual Sharksgiving food drive on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019. More than 100 students attended this SGA-sponsored event. The campus donated 340 pounds of canned goods (equating to 283 meals) to Feeding Tampa Bay.

We sincerely thank the Tampa Sharks for their strong support of the local community.
